Shehab Marzban

Dr. Shehab Marzban is the Senior Advisor for Economic Affairs to the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation in his Capacity as Strategic Advisor with the African Development Bank. Prior to that, Dr. Marzban was Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs at the Egyptian Ministry of International Cooperation.

Before joining the public sector, Dr. Marzban was the Co-Founder of Shekra Crowdfunding and SME Development. He served as a Senior Consultant at the World Bank focusing on Islamic MSME finance and venture capital strategies in the MENA region. Dr. Marzban is also a visiting professor at IMD Business School in Switzerland, Zayed University in the UAE, and Durham University in England. His areas of specialization include: MSME and startups development; crowd-funding; venture capital development; developmental projects and finance; Islamic finance; fund management; and decision support models.

Amr El Abd

Amr El Abd has more than 16 years of experience as an entrepreneur and director of fast growth companies. His fields of experience span new venture creation, business development, investment, training and consultancy, and startup acceleration. Mr. El Abd has co-founded and held senior managerial positions with several ventures ranging from technology, logistics, training and consultancy, to venture capital investments.

Mr. El Abd founded Entrepreneurs Business Forum-Egypt (EBF), the first NGO to support and empower entrepreneurs in Egypt in 2004 and has been an active member of the entrepreneurship ecosystem since then. He has developed many programs for entrepreneurship policy requirement working on creating a supportive environment for new venture creation. Mr. El Abd has a BSc in Economics from Georgetown University, USA.

Amr El Abd

Heba Ali

Managing Director

Heba Ali has over a decade of experience leading innovative organizations that develop and foster startups and ecosystems across multiple sectors, as well as extensive expertise in strengthening the role of entrepreneurship as a socio- economic development catalyst.

Ms. Ali particularly focuses on high-impact entrepreneurship, venture capital, business model and institutional innovation, and ecosystem development. Ms. Ali previously served as Partner at Endure Capital, and Senior Entrepreneurship Advisor at Mercy Corps. Ms. Ali was also consultant at IBM and GIZ, and was part of the founding team of Endeavor Egypt. She is Co-Founder of T20 Association, serves on the board of AYB for Sustainable Development, and is an active member of the AmCham’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Committee. Ms. Ali has an MSc from the LSE and a BSc from the German University in Cairo.

Haya Farrag

Investment Analyst

Haya Farrag graduated from John Molson School of Business, Concordia University with a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and a minor in Economics. She attended LSE Continuing Education Courses for Accounting and Public Finance. Ms. Farrag has previous experience in corporate banking at BNP Paribas Egypt,where she was assisting in drafting several credit proposals for major F&B companies.

Prior to joining Egypt Ventures, Ms. Farrag served as an analyst at CI Capita, where she gained experience in asset management, assisting her team in managing the portfolios and making investment decisions. Ms .Farrag has a strong passion for entrepreneurship, social impact, and economic development.

Ahmed Farouk

Commanding 13 years of experience in the field of private equity investment and government advisory, Ahmed has executed growth capital and turnaround investments across a number of sectors including healthcare, industrial products, retail and oil services

Yassine El Oraby

Mr Oraby has an extensive business leadership background with 20 years of experience in startups and mature businesses. He participated and managed merger processes in Algeria, Egypt and Pakistan, from a business, political and regulatory aspects. He has board experience in several countries such as Algeria, BVI, Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom.

Hassan Al-Attas

Eng. Hassan Al-Attas is the head of the Saudi side in the management committee of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia grant to the Arab Republic of Egypt to support small and medium enterprises. Mr. Al-Attas has served as General Manager of Operations for the Saudi Development Fund for more than 13 years. Mr. Al-Attas also served as Director General of the Real Estate Development Fund in the Kingdom during the last period 'in addition to his membership in the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Development Fund.

Engineer Al-Attas holds a master's degree in engineering and construction management from the United States of America in 1981 and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in the Kingdom in 1978. He attended several training courses in the fields of engineering, management, accounting and information technology inside and outside the Kingdom. Mr. Al-Attas a member of the Saudi Engineers Association, a member of the US Engineers Committee and a member of the Project Managers Committee in the United States.

Youssri Helmy

Youssri Helmy is a proven entrepreneur, angel investor, and mentor who has successfully co-founded, operated and exited several startups globally. He has over 25 years of experience in the fields of engineering, product management, marketing, and business development in a wide range of technologies. Mr. Helmy currently serves as Co-founder and CEO to Eonite Perception Inc, a 3D mapping and tracking company. He is also partner at Rising Tide Fund, a global seed and early-stage venture capital fund based in Silicon Valley. In addition, Mr. Helmy boasts a strong track record cofounding and serving as Chairman of IdealRatings and serving as CEO and Chairman of ITWorX prior to that.

Ashraf Ghazaly

Mr. Ashraf Ghazaly is the Chief Executive Officer at NI Capital. Before joining NI Capital, Mr. Ghazaly served as VP and CIO of Palm Hills Development, where he oversaw the performance of numerous local and overseas assets and advised the company’s board of directors on strategy and growth opportunities. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Managing Director of Fleming CIIC Investment Securities (now EFG-Hermes) and was involved in the execution of a wide range of transactions, including domestic and cross-border privatizations, private placements, and equity and fixed-income security issuances.

Hossam Abu Moussa

Mr. Hossam Abu Moussa has over 10 years of experience in private equity. Mr. Abou Moussa joined Actis in 2006, taking on responsibility for originating, executing and managing transactions in the Financial Services and Industrials sectors in Egypt and North Africa. Before that Mr. Abu Moussa worked at EFG-Hermes Private Equity where he was part of an Egypt-focused buyout fund. Mr. Abu Moussa is a CFA Charter holder and has an MBA from Oxford and a BA in business administration and finance from the American University in Cairo.

Sherif Samy

Mr. Sherif Samy serves as Senior Vice President of North America at Entersekt Pty Ltd., an innovator in push-based authentication and app security. He has long focused on cyber security, digital Identity and payments innovation in fintech. Mr. Samy is the former President of the Board at Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority and served as its Chairman. He also served on the board of the General Authority for Investment (GAFI) for several terms.

Prior to joining EFSA, Mr. Samy was the managing director of Misr Capital, the investment arm of Banque Misr, managing a private equity portfolio of nearly $2 billion as well as two large mutual funds. He was also a board member of Banque du Caire, the SME Development Fund in addition to numerous listed and privately held companies operating in the capital market, textile, urban development, engineering, education, logistics and mining sectors.

Abeer El kholy

Mrs. Abeer El Kholy is the Arab Affairs Advisor at the ministry of investment and international co-operation. After studies at economic and political science college at Cairo University, Mrs. El Kholy received her master's degree in business management from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport , then finished her Doctorate degree in Economics from Helwan University.

Mrs. El Kholy has worked as an economic specialist in Egyptian parliament, then she has worked as a senior supervisor to the Middle East and gulf region investment promotion team at the Ministry of Investment. Currently Mrs. El Kholy is working as the representative of Saudi Trade and Industry Chambers and Saudi businessmen council in Egypt.

Ghadeer Hegazi

Mrs. Ghadeer Hegazi is the Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation. After studies at the department of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University, majoring in Political Sciences, she received her Master Degree in Public Administration from the Arab academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport. Mrs. Hegazy has worked as administrator at the office of the CEO of Delta Sand Brick Company.

Mrs. Hegazy served as a Senior Economic Expert officer in charge of cooperation with Arab countries and as Advisor to the Minister of International Cooperation in the position of the Head of Arab Affairs Unit. She served as Board Member in several joint companies between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Mrs. Hegazy has been recently promoted to Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation responsible for coordination between the Government of Egypt and the Arab Funding Agencies in administering the financial, technical and implementation of projects in Egypt that are financed by proceeds from Loans, Grants and Technical Assistance.
