Sameh El Sadat graduated with a degree in Political Science from the American University in Cairo in 2005. Following graduation, El Sadat spent almost 10 years in the private equity field with regional and global players, including EFG Hermes and The Abraaj Group. During this period, El Sadat worked on pre and post investment decision processes including due diligence, structuring, value creation plans and exits. El Sadat was primarily based out of Egypt, with last 4 years with The Abraaj Group based out of Dubai executing deals in the Turkey, GCC, and North Africa. In 2013, El Sadat decided to move back to Egypt to setup Springboard Investment Management Ltd (“SPBD”). SPBD serves as a regional launch pad for small and medium-scale businesses in a variety of industries in the Middle East and North African bloc. The company seeks to create an alliance of young entrepreneurs who are of advanced calibre and possess diverse professional backgrounds to identify and develop valuable investment opportunities. SPBD primarily provides patient and value added capital to high growth companies with competent management teams. Springboard invested in Kazyon, the leading hard discount supermarket chain (450+ stores) in Egypt. Springboard portfolio also includes companies operating in tourism, real estate, e-commerce, fitness & health, and homeware/tableware products. El-Sadat co-founded TBS (The Bakery Shop), the leading retail bakery chain in Egypt (70+ stores), whereby he assumes the role of Chief Investment Officer for the past 6 years. His roles and responsibilities include raising debt and equity funds for the Group through top tier banks or investors. In addition, managing the CFO with a team of 20 finance and costing employees. El-Sadat has been responsible for articulating and executing the growth program of the Group including identifying, diligencing, structuring and executing add-on investments such as The Four Fat Ladies. Originating and executing new growth avenues / concept extensions for the Group such as El Forn and TBS Kitchen has been part of his responsibilities. In 2020, El-Sadat was elected as Member of the Egyptian Senate representing Menofeya Governorate. Also he is selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur since 2009, and is an active member in EO. He is the lead fund raiser for El Sadat Association for Social Development & Welfare (www.el-sadat.org). In 2012, El-Sadat completed the 3 months Harvard Program with Abraaj Academy. In 2018, El-Sadat completed the Stanford Innovation and Scaling Executive Program in San Francisco.
